I graduated from the University of Montana with a Bachelors of Arts in 1971 and then with a Bachelor of Science in 1975. I passed the CPA exam in 1975 on my first sitting. In 1979, I received the Montana Jaycees Outstanding President Award. Later that year, I became a member of the Board of Directors for Montana Society of CPAs. In 1984, I served as the Senior Vice President and Comptroller for First Federal Savings Bank (now known as Glacier Bank Holding Company). In 1985, I started my own business that is now American Financial Services, Inc. In 1994, I became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional as a means to better serve my clients.
As a CFP® professional and CPA, I understand my clients’ financial needs. I’ve been a CPA for 40 years and a CFP® for over 20 years. I use that experience to help my clients plan for and pursue their financial goals.
A little more about me… In June 1973, I married my wife Pennie. We have three children and eight grandchildren. I enjoy playing music, magic, scouting and fixing anything from cars to amplifiers. When my kids were younger I helped them form the Whitewater band. Their band traveled all over the Western United States to perform at a variety of venues. In 1977, I became a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and am part of the Order of Merlin Shield. I have been heavily involved with Boy Scouts of America programs in Kalispell over the last 25 years. I have been the chairman for the Annual Rendezvous that includes muzzle-loading, archery, knife and tomahawk throwing and the Colter relay. I love life and my goal is to help my clients become financially secure so they can enjoy theirs too!
